Northern College of Acupuncture: North Yorkshire
As the Northern College of Acupuncture approaches its 40th year of educating acupuncturists, herbal practitioners and nutritional therapists, we believe that the strength and depth of our experience is difficult to equal.

At the Northern College of Acupuncture (NCA), we continue to proudly follow our values by providing what we consider to be the finest and most accessible courses available to the widest possible range of students. At the same time, innovation and creativity remain foremost in our plans for the future.

Online learning

The credibility of our online learning environment continues to develop, while enabling students to access lectures – at a time and place that suits their busy schedules. In addition, we recently ran our first Diploma in Chinese Nutritional Medicine – a fully online course combining traditional Chinese medical theory with modern nutritional practice.

NCA is developing accessible, modern aspirational initiatives for the next decade

Every year, the number of enquiries we receive from national and international students increases. In response, the college has moved the MSc/PGDip in Nutrition and Practice course online. Our long-standing and well-respected MSc/PGDip in Chinese Herbal Medicine is already established as an online course for both class and clinic.

Teaching clinics

NCA have partnered with the Health Sciences University (HSU) and British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) to use their modern clinical teaching facilities for student clinical practice in London and Cheshire. This is a significant development for us and the first of many planned innovations – to ensure our BSc Acupuncture course remains up-to-date, research based, practical, clinical and academic, as well as maintaining and honouring our commitment to traditional Chinese medical paradigms.

These two new clinical teaching facilities – in London and central Cheshire – are ideal for many more students, allowing them to work with highly experienced BAcC member supervisors within a much more accessible commuting distance from where they live.

Forward thinking

In line with the college’s values, we will continue to provide the very highest level of education – producing safe and effective healthcare professionals who are critical thinkers, encouraged to be lifelong learners, and who are proud to be members of the PSA regulated BAcC.
