Membership subscription payments

Members may make subscription payments to the BAcC through a variety of methods. This page outlines those available.

Membership subscriptions for 2024

Membership subscriptions have been frozen again for 2024, for the twelfth year in a row. Subscriptions for 2024 are listed below:

  • Full member – £610.00 per annum
  • Full member – 1st  year after graduation – £357.50 per annum
  • Full member – 2nd year after graduation – £483.75 per annum
  • Overseas member – £110.00 per annum
  • Non-Practising member – £85.00 per annum
  • Returner’s Maternity Allowance – £357.50 per annum
  • Working Maternity Allowance – £190.00 per annum

How and when to pay

Members are expected to pay their membership subscription in quarterly instalments, at the start of each quarter of the calendar year. Some members opt to pay their annual fees in full at the start of the year. However, if you wish to do so, you may make payments on a monthly basis. Members are asked to diarise their payment schedule carefully to ensure they keep their subscription up-to-date.

Membership subscription notices are emailed out to members in December each year. If you are a 1st or 2nd year graduate, or are on a maternity allowance and your rate is due to change during 2024, then your total subscription for 2024 won’t quite match the figures above. Instead, it will be a combination of ‘pro rata’ fees.

Please note, for members who pay by Direct Debit, you do not need to do anything – your quarterly membership subscription will be collected as normal.

For other types of payment, please ensure your first quarterly payment for 2024 is made by Friday 19 January 2024.

Direct Debit payments

Members who pay by Direct Debit benefit from knowing that fixed payment amounts are taken automatically at regular quarterly intervals. Direct Debit payments also reduce administration time, are more cost-effective for BAcC, and are easy to set up.

We offer an online sign-up process to set up a Direct Debit mandate. This online link takes you to a secure sign-up page where you enter your personal details, your bank details, and finally verify the information and confirm your authorisation to set up the Direct Debit mandate – and that is it. You can also view your Direct Debit mandate and save a copy of it for your records.

Direct Debit payments are taken at quarterly intervals by default.

You can find the periods covered by each quarterly payment and the date this will be taken below:

  • 1 Jan- 31 Mar 2024 – payment taken 14 January*
  •  1 Apr  – 30 June 2024 – payment taken on 14 April*
  • 1 July – 30 Sept 2024 – payment taken on 14 July*
  • 1 Oct – 31 Dec 2024 – payment taken 14 October

* Sundays, so payment will show the following day.

Online payments

Our online payment system is our preferred payment method for those not paying by Direct Debit. The online payment system will issue an automatic email confirming your payment, giving you confidence that you have paid successfully. Please note that we are currently only able to take Pound Sterling payments through our online payment tool.

Overpayments

Please take care when making payments to BAcC. We occasionally receive inadvertent overpayments of subscriptions from members, and overpayments made will be considered as donations to BAcC. We will contact you if any overpayment exceeds £10 annually.

Pausing or ending your membership

Prior to requesting to pause or end your membership, please get in touch as there may well be alternative options available to you (e.g., you may well be eligible for a reduced subscription rate, depending on your particular circumstances).

Please note, in the event you would still like to proceed with pausing or ending your membership, your membership subscription will cease from the first day of the following calendar month. Fees for the month in which you notify us remain payable.

If you would like your membership to pause or end from a specific month, please make sure you notify us by the final day of the preceding the month, to avoid incurring additional costs. For example, if you would like your membership to end from 1 April onwards, you will need to email us by 31 March.  If you were to notify us in April, membership subscription fees for April would remain payable.
