World Acupuncture Day – Thursday 16 November

In November, we will support the ETCMA in celebrating World Acupuncture Day, to raise awareness of acupuncture, which has been recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Human Cultural Treasure. BAcC Members are invited to raise awareness by participating in this global campaign.

Add your voice to the global map

#IDoAcupuncture is a campaign to highlight and showcase our proud profession, which is practised in over 182 countries around the world. Last year, the ETCMA created a video to celebrate and commemorate the recognition of the rich heritage of acupuncture by UNESCO.

We we need your help! BAcC Members have the chance to get involved in this year’s celebrations. Wherever you are in the world, you can add your voice by submitting your short contribution video here.

Create your own content
You can find some call-to-action graphics developed by the ETCMA here. These are free to download and use alongside your email signatures, logos, or social media posts, to help promote and raise awareness of our profession.

Hashtags
If you’re creating content for your business pages, remember to use the following hashtags #idoacupuncture #WorldAcupunctureAwarenessDay #WorldAcupunctureDay #WAAD23 #WAD23. You can also tag the British Acupuncture Council and the ETCMA in your posts.

Additional resources
The ETCMA has created a brief history of acupuncture, dating back to 6,000 BC. It clearly illustrates how acupuncture has become established in the West. This a great resource to share in any blogs or newsletters for patients.

About ETCMA
The European Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (ETCMA) is proud to represent well qualified and highly trained practitioners of acupuncture. The role of the ETCMA is to promote a wider recognition and acceptance of TCM therapies by European government and the public by lobbying EU bodies and institutions.
