It was announced today by Chief Medical Officer, Frank Atherton, that Wales is set to become the first UK nation to introduce a mandatory national licensing scheme for tattoo artists and those working in body piercing, semi-permanent make-up, acupuncture and electrolysis.
The BAcC welcomes moves to ensure acupuncture is practised safely and hygienically. We have already been consulted in the development process for this proposed scheme and we look forward to taking part in the scheduled consultation. The BAcC is an Accredited Register of the Professional Standards Authority. The public can have confidence in the standards and professionalism of our members.
