Trees for Cities – making a difference

In 2022, as part of our annual members’ survey campaign, we chose to support UK charity, Trees for Cities (TfC). For every five survey responses we received back from members, we committed to planting a tree in the UK.

Trees for Cities works at a national and international scale to improve lives by planting trees and enhancing green spaces in cities and towns. They get stuck in with local communities to cultivate lasting change in their neighbourhoods – whether it’s revitalising forgotten spaces, creating healthier environments, or connecting children with nature.

In last year’s survey results, we were pleased to report that, as a result of your survey responses in 2022, Trees for Cities would plant approximately 70 trees in London and other parts of the UK.

Tree planting season runs from November to March and it was always our intention, as a staff team, to join Trees for Cities for one of their community planting days. Unfortunately, we were thwarted twice during the last tree planting season and missed out due to inclement weather and train strikes.

It was, therefore, a real joy to recently receive the impact report from the charity for our donation last year.

To read more about the contributions made last year, the positive impact the trees have and how our funding is helping address a number of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), read the full impact report here.

‘We would like to sincerely thank the British Acupuncture Council for their support this year, enabling TfC and our beneficiaries to complete many of our projects. Creating urban green spaces is a vital step in helping us tackle serious environmental issues such as air pollution and flooding, and provide a much-needed home for wildlife, as well as social and health issues.’ Trees for Cities
