Moxa is unfortunately one of the main reasons for formal insurance claims within acupuncture. This webinar will consist of two parts. We’ll start with a safe practice demonstration from Marian Fixler and Hannah Bowie-Carlin who will be highlighting the dos and don’ts when using moxa in clinic. We’ll then be joined by Flora McCabe, lawyer and Head of Advocacy and Risk Management at BAcC’s insurance brokers, Lockton. She will be providing real, anonymised examples of claims received as a result of inappropriate use of moxa, illustrating the cost of these claims in terms of time, stress, money and impact on the client relationship, and suggesting how to mitigate some of the risks.
